Introduction:
Comments are a powerful way to drive deeper engagement with your content. The more time readers spend interacting with comments, the longer they stay on your website, which increases scrolling and boosts ad revenue. However, getting readers to start commenting can be a challenge, especially when there’s no existing conversation.
To help overcome this challenge, Newsifier offers AI Comments—a feature that automatically generates comments based on your article content. These AI-generated comments look like they were written by real readers, helping to kick-start conversation and create a more interactive experience.
Enabling AI Comments in Newsifier
To start using AI comments for your content, you first need to enable the feature in your settings:
Navigate to Settings > General > AI.
Scroll down to the AI Comments section and toggle the feature ON.
Customizing the AI Comments Prompt
The AI model generates comments based on a prompt. By default, the prompt encourages the AI to write comments as if they were coming from a highly engaged reader of the article. While you have the option to customize this prompt from the settings, we recommend using the default unless you’re familiar with creating prompts for AI models.
Default Prompt: “The comments need to be written like you are an engaged reader of the article and in the same language as the language of the article.”
If you make changes to the prompt and find that the comments are not performing as expected, you can always revert to the default.
Configuring AI Comments
After enabling AI comments, you can further refine how they behave through the AI Comments section under Moderation in the left-hand menu of your Newsifier Admin Panel.
Here are the available settings:
Approval Options:
Auto-approve: Comments are automatically posted without review.
Manual-approve: You can review and approve each comment before it goes live.
Publish Timeframe: To make the commenting activity appear more natural, the system doesn’t post all comments at once. Instead, you can choose a time period over which comments will be posted at random intervals.
Comments Count: Decide how many AI-generated comments you want to appear per article. This gives you control over the level of interaction.
Enabling AI Comments for Individual Articles
AI comments are not automatically enabled for every article, giving you control over which articles should have AI-generated comments. By default, AI comments are disabled for newly created articles.
To enable AI comments on a specific article:
While creating or editing an article, go to the Options panel in the right sidebar.
Toggle the AI Comments setting ON for that particular article.
This way, you can selectively choose which content benefits from the AI-generated engagement.
