Introduction

Newsifier makes it easy to integrate ads into your mobile application, helping you boost engagement and revenue. This guide explains how to set up ads, including Outbrain and Strossle widgets, and manage ad placements effectively in your app.

Outbrain and Strossle Widget Integration

With Newsifier, you can seamlessly integrate Outbrain and Strossle widgets into your app’s article pages. These widgets are widely used for monetizing content through ad recommendations.

  • Outbrain Widget: Displays engaging content recommendations for monetization.

  • Strossle Widget: Offers content-based ads and recommendations with minimal setup.

Integration Steps:

  1. Add Your API Key and Client ID:

    • Go to Ads Mobile App in the admin panel.

    • Choose the widget you want to use.

    • Enter your API key and Client ID for Outbrain or Strossle.

  2. Widget Placement:

    • Widgets automatically appear below the article content, streamlining integration without the need for extensive development.

These integrations are optional but highly recommended for driving engagement and maximizing revenue.

Ad Placement Locations in Mobile Apps

Newsifier supports ad placements on the following pages within your app:

  1. Homepage: Ads displayed on the app’s homepage.

  2. Article Pages: Ads displayed within individual articles.

  3. Tag Pages: Ads displayed on tag pages in the app.

Naming Ad Positions

Newsifier uses predefined ad position names like HPAD1 and HPAD2 for homepage ads, APAD1 and APAD2 for article page ads, OPAD1 and OPAD2 for Default Mobile overview ads.

Important: The ad position name in Newsifier must match exactly with the name in your Google Ads Manager. For example, if Google Ads Manager lists /1234567/App_Homepage_Top_Banner, you must use that exact name in Newsifier.

Setting Up Mobile App Ads

Follow these steps to configure ads in your mobile app:

  1. Name the Ad Position:

    • Use predefined names (e.g., HPAD1, HPAD2) or custom names from your Google Ads Manager.

  2. Define Ad Size:

    • Specify the width and height for the ad position. The same size must also be set in Google Ads Manager to ensure proper display.

  3. Select Ad Positions:

    • You can choose from up to 8 available ad positions per page.

Tip: Avoid using all 8 ad positions at once to maintain a clean and user-friendly interface.

Interstitial Ads for Mobile Apps

In addition to regular ad placements, you have the option to integrate interstitial ads. These are full-screen ads that appear at natural transition points within the app, such as between different pages or screens. You can also define the frequency of these ads, allowing you to control how many articles a user reads before the interstitial ad shows again.

Interstitial ads can be highly engaging and effective, but they should be used carefully to avoid disrupting the user experience. Managing the frequency is essential to prevent overexposing users to the same ad too frequently.

Best Practices for Mobile Ads

  • Match ad sizes and positions between Newsifier and Google Ads Manager for accurate display.

  • Use interstitial ads judiciously to maintain a positive user experience.

  • Leverage Outbrain and Strossle widgets to boost engagement and revenue with minimal setup.

By following these steps, you can effectively integrate ads into your mobile app with Newsifier, ensuring a balance between monetization and user experience. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Newsifier support.
