Introduction

The Media Manager in Newsifier allows you to manage all the images used on your site, such as logos, article images, etc...

It allows you to upload, organize, and edit your media seamlessly within the admin panel. With features like tagging, watermarking, and gallery creation, the Media Manager ensures your images are well-organized and ready for use, streamlining your workflow and enhancing your content presentation.

Accessing the Media Manager

You can access the Media Manager in different ways:

  1. Automatically, when you add an image to an article or in the editor.

  2. From the Settings menu in the left sidebar of the admin panel.

Uploading Images

The Media Manager provides two ways to upload images:

  1. Browse Button: Click the "Browse" button to select one or more files from your device.

  2. Drag and Drop: Drag files directly into the upload area.

Searching for Images

To find specific images, use the search fields at the top of the Media Manager. You can search by:

  1. Title: The name of the image.

  2. Watermark: Search for images with a specific watermark.

  3. Tags: Easily search for images organized under specific tags.

Managing Image Properties

Select an image in the Media Manager to view and manage its properties. When an image is selected, a sidebar will appear on the right, displaying detailed options for the image.

Here's what you can do:

View Details

The sidebar provides the following information about the selected image:

  • File Name: The name of the uploaded image.

  • Image Caption: The related caption for the image.

  • Watermark: Any watermark currently associated with the image.

  • Tags: Tags assigned to the image for easy organization and search.

Note: The Caption Image field is exclusively available in the Media Manager for Newsifier V2.

Edit Details

You can make changes to the details of the image directly in the sidebar:

  1. Change File Name: Update the name of the image to something more descriptive.

  2. Add or Modify Caption: You can add or modify a caption to the selected image. The caption will appear below the image wherever it is used on the website.

  3. Add or Modify Watermarks: Attach a new watermark or replace the existing one.

    • Click on the Watermark Field and start type the name of the watermark.

    • If the watermark exists, select it from the dropdown menu.

    • For a new watermark, press Enter after typing its name to save it.

    • Optionally, you can associate a link with the watermark.

  4. Add or Update Tags: Assign tags to the image for grouping and easier searching. Tags can be created on the spot or selected from existing ones.

Note: Tags are for internal organization and won’t appear on the front end.

Adding Captions for Featured Images

In Newsifier V2, you can add captions specifically for featured images, which refer to the main images displayed at the top of an article. To add a caption:

  1. After selecting the featured image in the Media Manager, locate the "Caption" field on the right-hand sidebar of the media manager.

  2. Enter the desired text in the field. This caption will appear below the image when it is displayed in the article.

Note: Adding Caption for a Featured Image in Article is only available in Newsifier V2.
