Introduction
The Calendar feature in Newsifier helps you effortlessly create and manage events on your website, keeping your audience informed about important events. Designed to present information in a structured and visually appealing format, this feature makes it easy to highlight key dates. You can also embed individual events into articles, enabling readers to engage with the events directly and stay updated with your content.
Accessing the Calendar Feature
To access the Calendar feature:
Navigate to the left-hand menu in the admin panel.
Under the Extra section, click on Calendar.
Note: This feature is only available in Newsifier Version 2.
The Calendar Overview page displays key details about your calendars, including:
Calendar name
Number of events
Views of the calendar and its events
Last Modified date
In the calendar overview page, you can:
Search: Look up specific calendars by name.
Bulk Actions: Delete multiple calendars at once by selecting them and clicking Delete.
Creating a New Calendar
Click the Add Calendar button at the top-right corner of the Calendar Overview page.
Fill in the following fields:
Name: Enter a name for the calendar.
Slug: Automatically generated based on the name (modifiable).
Description: You can customize the calendar description using the rich text editor.
Metadata: Optimize the calendar page for SEO, you can set up the meta title and meta description.
Once saved, you’ll be redirected to the calendar’s page, where you can add and manage events.
Adding Events to a Calendar
Open the desired calendar and click New Event in the top-right corner of the events section.
Fill in the required fields:
Event Name
Start Date (End Date optional)
Optionally remove the time slot if not needed.
Customize the event with:
Description: Add text, headings, images, polls, and more.
Location: Specify a location (optional).
Image: Upload an image to represent the event.
Labels: Add custom labels for clarity.
Tip: The event will default to the calendar where it was created. You can change the calendar from the Calendar Field.
Viewing Events on Your Website
Visitors can access the Calendar page through prominent links, such as in the header navigation or footer of your website. These links ensure that the Calendar page is easy to find and encourages audience engagement. You can find the link to the Calendar page in the admin panel.
Calendar Page Layout
On the frontend, the Calendar page prominently displays the calendar title and its description at the top. Below this, two tabs categorize the events:
Upcoming and Current Events: This tab showcases all events that are upcoming or currently happening, ensuring visitors can stay informed about the latest activities.
Past Events: This optional tab lists all past events, allowing visitors to reference or revisit previous activities.
Events on the Calendar page are grouped by month, offering a clear and organized structure. Each event is clickable, allowing visitors to navigate to the dedicated event page.
Tip: If you prefer not to show past events, you can request Newsifier support to hide this tab.

Associated image
Event title
Description
Location details (if provided)
Related calendar name
The Event date
This interactive design encourages visitors to explore events further, boosting engagement with your website.
Tip: To maximize accessibility, add links to the Calendar page in the header or the footer of your website. These strategic placements ensure visitors can easily discover your event calendar, no matter where they are on your site.
Embedding Calendar Events in Articles
To embed an event in an article:
Open the article editor and locate the Event Widget in the toolbar.
Click the widget, then search for the desired event.
Click the + button to embed the event in the article.
To remove an embedded event, click the - button next to the event name.
Once embedded, readers can click the event to navigate to the full event page, enhancing engagement.
