Introduction
If you manage multiple websites connected within the same Newsifier network, you can easily share articles between them. This feature allows you to publish content once and distribute it across multiple sites while maintaining control over article status, authors, categories, and translations.
Sending articles between connected domains helps streamline editorial workflows and ensures consistent content distribution across your websites.
Sending an Article to Another Connected Domain
Once you have finished crafting your article, follow these steps to send it to another connected domain:
In the right sidebar, locate the section Publish Article to Multiple Sites.
Select the website(s) you want to send the article to.
Choose the status for the shared article:
Draft β The article will be sent as a draft to the selected website.
Published β The article will be automatically published on the selected website.
Publish the article on your current site.
Once published, the article will automatically be sent to the selected connected domains.
Configuring Article Sharing Between Websites
Newsifier allows several configurations that can simplify the process of sharing articles across your network.
These settings can be configured by the Newsifier team for your network.
Default Site Selection:
You can request a configuration where all connected domains are selected by default when sending articles.
This can be useful for networks where most articles are shared across all websites.
Default Author on the Receiving Website:
When an article is sent to another website, you can configure a default author to be assigned automatically.
If you want to use a default author for shared articles, you can request Newsifier to configure this for your websites.
βDefault Article Status:
You can also configure the default publishing status for shared articles.
For example:Articles can always be sent as Draft
Articles can always be sent as Published
This avoids needing to manually select the status each time you share an article.
Mapping Categories, Tags, and Authors
When sharing content between domains, Newsifier can map categories, tags, and authors between the websites.
This ensures that articles appear in the correct sections on the receiving website.
For more details about resource mapping, see: π Mapping Categories, Tags, and Authors Between Connected Websites
Article Transformation Options
When sending articles between websites, Newsifier provides several options for transforming the article content depending on your editorial needs.
1. Tanslation
Articles can be automatically translated when sent to another website.
This is commonly used when sharing content between websites that operate in different languages.
Newsifier supports two translation services:
OpenAI Translation
Requires an OpenAI API key
Translation is charged based on usage by OpenAI
Fully integrated into the article publishing workflow
DeepL Pro Translation
Requires a DeepL Pro account
Uses the DeepL API for translation
Pricing depends on the DeepL subscription plan
You can choose either service depending on your preference.

2. AI Rewrite
Instead of translating an article, you can also use AI Rewrite.
This option rewrites the article while keeping the same language.
It is particularly useful when:
Sharing articles between websites in the same language
Creating a unique version of the content
Avoiding duplicate content across your sites
To enable this option, please provide your AI API token. It will be configured in Newsifier for you.
3. Direct Article Sharing
You can also send the article without translation or rewriting, keeping the original content exactly the same.
This is typically used when:
The connected websites use the same language
You want to publish the exact same article across multiple sites
Hreflang and Alternative Articles
When articles are translated between websites that operate in different languages, Newsifier can also configure alternative article attributes (hreflang tags).
Hreflang tags help search engines understand that different articles across your websites are language variations of the same content.
This improves international SEO and ensures that readers are directed to the correct language version of the article.
For example:
An article on example.com/en may have a translated version on example.com/es
Hreflang tags tell search engines that these pages are alternate language versions
If your websites operate in multiple languages, hreflang implementation may be configured as part of your Newsifier setup.
For a full explanation of how hreflang works and when it should be used, see:
βWhat is hreflang and when should it be used for multilingual websites?
Confirmation and Error Handling
If the article is successfully sent, you will see a success message confirming the action.
If an error occurs, an error message will be displayed, allowing you to recheck the box and attempt to resend the article.
Best Practices for Sharing Articles Across Domains
Use translation when sending content between websites in different languages
Use AI rewrite when sharing between websites in the same language but requiring unique content
Ensure categories, tags and authors are properly mapped between websites
Configure default authors and publishing statuses if you frequently share articles
These configurations help streamline your editorial workflow and maintain consistency across your network.
πNote: If your websites are not connected and you want them to be, you can ask the support team for connecting them. Once connected, you will be able to see them in the Also Publish On section and send articles between them.
