Steps to Add Your Google Analytics ID

  2. Scroll down to find the Google Analytics ID section.

  3. Input your Google Analytics tracking ID (either Universal Analytics or GA4) in the provided field.

Once completed, your website will be connected to Google Analytics, and you can start monitoring your website's performance data.

Google Analytics Consent Strategy

Adds a setting that controls when Google Ads scripts (including Analytics) should run based on user consent.

Where to find it

  1. In the left-hand menu, click Settings.

  2. Scroll down the page.

  3. Find Google Analytics Consent Strategy.

How it works

  • This setting controls whether the Google Analytics script (which includes Google Analytics tracking) will be granted by default or denied by default.

  • The tracking status in GA depends entirely on the consent strategy you choose.

1. Grant (Track immediately)

  • Use if: You don’t need to comply with GDPR / EU consent regulations.

  • Behavior: Google Ads and Analytics scripts start running immediately for all users. No consent prompt is required.

2. Deny (Block until consent)

  • Use if: You must follow GDPR or prefer to respect user privacy by default.

  • Behavior: Scripts are blocked for all users initially.

    • After a visitor clicks “Accept” on your consent banner or popup, the ad agency needs to update Google Analytics consent to “granted.”

    • Once granted, Google Analytics tracking will activate for that user.

💡 Note: The selected value is set to Grant (enabled by default) unless you change it.

How to check if Google Analytics is working on your website

Once you have added your GA4 ID in Newsifier, you can follow these steps to check if the integration is working properly.

  2. Navigate to the Settings tab.

  3. Scroll down to the Google Analytics section.

  4. Copy the Measurement ID shown there (e.g., starts with G-).

Step 2: Check the ID in Google Analytics

  1. Select the correct property linked to the website.

  2. Click on Admin (bottom-left corner).

  3. Under the Property column, click Data Streams.

  4. Choose the correct web data stream.

  5. Verify that the Measurement ID matches the one from your Newsifier dashboard.

Step 3: Use Google Tag Assistant to test the connection

  1. Click Start and enter your website domain.

  2. Tag Assistant will open your website in a new tab and start a test session.

  3. Return to the Tag Assistant tab and look under the Tags Fired section.

  4. You should see the Google Analytics: GA4 Configuration tag and your Measurement ID listed there.
