This guide will walk you through the steps to create and set up a new Facebook application for your business or project. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure your app is configured correctly.

Go to <a href="https://developers.facebook.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">developers.facebook.com</a>.

Log in with your Facebook account or create a new account if you don’t have one.

Navigate to My Apps and click on Create App.

Choose Facebook Login and click Next.

Select No when asked if you’re building a game.

After creating the app, go to the Dashboard.

Navigate to App Settings &gt; Basic.

- Display Name: The name shown to users.
- App Domain: Enter your domain (e.g., <code>mydomain.com</code>).
- Privacy Policy URL: Provide a link to your privacy policy.
- Terms of Service URL: Provide a link to your terms of service (can be the same as the privacy policy URL).
- App Icon: Upload an icon with the required dimensions.
- Category: Select a category for your app (e.g., News).
- Deletion URL: Provide a URL for data deletion requests (replace the placeholder with your domain).
- Data Protection Officer Contact Information: Fill in the required fields.

1. After creating the app, go to the Dashboard.

Go back to Settings and configure the following URLs:

- Valid OAuth Redirect URIs: Replace the placeholder with your domain (e.g., <code>https://yourdomain.com/redirect</code>).
- Deauthorize Callback URL: Replace the placeholder with your domain (e.g., <code>https://yourdomain.com/deauthorize</code>). ​

1. Scroll down and click Add Platform.
2. Select Website and click Next.
3. Enter your website’s domain and click Save Changes. ​
 
 
4. Go back to Settings and configure the following URLs:
 - Valid OAuth Redirect URIs: Replace the placeholder with your domain (e.g., <code>https://yourdomain.com/redirect</code>).
 - Deauthorize Callback URL: Replace the placeholder with your domain (e.g., <code>https://yourdomain.com/deauthorize</code>). ​
 
 
5. Click Save Changes.

Step 5: Add Required Permissions and Prepare for Submission

Add Email and public_profile because they are required for Facebook Login

Go back to the Dashboard and review the app’s status.

Click Review and Complete to prepare for submission.

2. Scroll down to Permissions
3. Add Email and public_profile because they are required for Facebook Login

5. Click Review and Complete to prepare for submission.

If business verification is required, click Start Verification and follow the steps to verify your business. ​

Once all required information is filled in, click Publish.

Step 8: Set Up the App on Newsifier Dashboard

Copy the App ID from your Facebook Developer Dashboard. ​

Go to your admin dashboard and navigate to General Settings &gt; Share Tab.

Scroll down to Facebook App and paste the App ID.

Copy the App Secret from the Facebook Developer Dashboard (click Show to reveal it).

Paste the App Secret in the corresponding field in your admin dashboard.
