Introduction

Submitting your sitemap to Google Search Console helps search engines efficiently index your website's content. This guide will walk you through the process step-by-step.

Step 1: Locate Your Sitemap

Your website’s main sitemap in Newsifier is available at /sitemap.xml (for example: https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml). You only need to submit this single link in Google Search Console.

We’ve optimized the sitemap structure for better SEO performance by splitting it into four separate sitemaps, following Google’s best practices:

  • /sitemap/news-latest.xml – Latest published articles

  • /sitemap/google-news.xml – News articles for Google News

  • /sitemap/pages.xml – Static pages (e.g., About, Contact)

  • /sitemap/tags.xml – Tag pages

Step 2: Sign in to Google Search Console

  1. Sign in with your Google account credentials.

Step 3: Submit Your Sitemap

  1. In the left-hand menu, click on "Sitemaps" under the "Indexing" section.

  2. In the "Add a new sitemap" field, enter sitemap.xml.

  3. Click the "Submit" button.

What Happens Next

Once your sitemap is submitted, Google will begin using it to index your site’s content. You can revisit the "Sitemaps" section in Search Console anytime to review the indexing progress.
