Introduction

Newsifier gives clients all around the world the ability to configure their own time zone settings. This ensures that article and comment times display correctly based on your location or the location relevant to your website’s audience.

By default, Newsifier uses the Netherlands time zone. If you want to adjust the time zone or how dates and times appear on your site, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Change the Time Zone of Your Website

  1. Log in to your CMS.

  2. In the left-hand menu, click on General.

  3. Then select the Other tab.

  4. Scroll down to find the Time Zone setting.

  5. Click the dropdown and select the time zone that matches your target audience or your website’s location.

The selected time zone will affect how times appear on:

  • Published articles

  • Article comments

Step 2: Customize How Dates and Times Are Displayed

  1. In your CMS, go to the Settings section again.

  2. Now select the Layout tab.

  3. Find the Date/Time Display tile.

Here, you can choose how you want dates and times to appear across your website. There are three options:

Option 1: Full Date and Time

  • Shows the complete date and time.

  • Example: 24-06-2025 11:56

Option 2: Time Only

  • If the article is published today, it will only show the time.

  • If it's older than today, it will show both date and time.

  • Example: at 12:00

Option 3: Relative Time

  • Displays how long ago something was posted.

  • If it's older than today, it will show both date and time.

  • Example: 2 hours ago.

Summary

You can easily set your website’s time zone and control how timestamps appear for articles and comments. These features are especially helpful for global clients to keep content timing accurate and easy to understand for readers.
