Introduction

When launching your website with Newsifier, you have two design options:

  1. Use one of our designed themes

  2. Request a fully custom design tailored to your brand

This guide will help you understand the differences between both options, including what can and can’t be customized, timelines, costs, and how to provide your input — so you can choose the best fit based on your needs, branding, and launch goals.

Option 1: Use an Existing Newsifier Theme

What’s Included

  • Choose from one of our SEO-optimized themes in the Newsifier Themes Portfolio

  • We adjust basic branding elements per theme, including:

    • Your logo

    • Primary site colors

    • Fonts and font sizes

    • Margins and paddings

    • Background color

What You Can’t Change

  • The core layout structure of the theme

  • Adding or combining layouts/components from other templates (unless agreed upon with your contact person)

Why?
Newsifier themes are built using pre-designed components that are optimized for speed, SEO, and ease of maintenance. To protect performance, layout-level changes aren’t part of theme-based customization.

Timeline

  • Your branded design is ready within 3 working days after we receive your preferences

Feedback & Revisions

  • 1 round of revision included

  • Additional changes can be requested and will be billed at an hourly rate.

Costs

  • Minor customizations — such as adjusting colors, fonts, spacing, and background styles — are included in your initial setup fee.

  • If you request further design changes after the first round (either before or after launch), these will be billed at our standard hourly rate.

  • If you want to make larger layout changes or combine parts of other themes, we’ll first review the request and let you know the cost and feasibility.

Option 2: Request a Custom Website Design

What’s Included

Our design team creates a fully tailored home, article, and tag pages layout in Figma based on your brand, preferences, and editorial needs.

💡 Figma is a popular design tool where you can easily view and comment on design mockups.

Process:

  1. You send us:

    • Branding guidelines

    • Examples of websites you like

    • Menu structure

    • Preferred font, primary color, layout ideas

  2. We send an invoice for 50% upfront
🏷️ Please note: we begin work once payment is received.

  3. We design the custom pages using Figma. You’ll receive a Figma file with mockups for your homepage, article page, and tag page.

  4. You give feedback

    • 2 rounds of revisions are included

    • Leave comments directly in Figma

  5. After approval, we prepare for implementation

🚀 Implementation Step: Our development team will begin building your website’s front-end based on the approved Figma mockups. This includes coding the layout using our internal component system to ensure your site is fast, mobile-friendly, and optimized for SEO and performance.

What You Can and Can’t Change (Custom Design)

Custom designs offer more flexibility than themes, but they are still built using Newsifier’s internal component system. This helps ensure speed, SEO performance, and maintainability.

✅ What you can change:

  • Fully customize the visual style — including colors, fonts, spacing, and layout

  • Change the order and structure of components on the page

⛔ What you can’t change:

  • Request entirely new backend features or interactive logic without additional development scope

  • Add brand-new component types that don’t already exist in Newsifier without custom development

We’ll always let you know if a design request requires custom development or isn’t technically feasible.
