Overview
If your browser does not show a “Translate” option on your Newsifier V2 website, this is normal.
Google Translate is turned off by default, but you can enable it in the CMS if you want visitors to translate your website.
Note: This setting is for website visitors. It does not translate content inside the CMS editor.
Why is Google Translate turned off by default?
Google Translate is turned off by default to keep your website fast and stable.
When automatic translation is enabled, it can cause:
Slower page loading
Lower page speed scores
Small layout shifts (the page may slightly move while loading)
Can I enable Google Translate?
Yes, you can enable Google Translate at any time in your CMS settings.
This option is available for all Newsifier V2 sites.
⚠️ Before you turn this on, please read the side effects. In some cases, it can make your website slower or cause small layout changes.
How to Enable Google Translate
Follow these steps:
Log in to your Newsifier CMS
Go to Settings
Click on the Layout tab
Scroll to Articles layout
Find the setting Enable Google Translate
Change the dropdown from No to Yes
Click Save
After saving, visitors can use browser translation tools on your website.
What Happens When You Enable It?
When enabled:
Visitors can translate the page using their browser (for example, Google Chrome)
The translation is done automatically by Google
The translation quality may vary
Possible side effects:
Pages may load a bit slower
Speed test scores may decrease
The layout may slightly shift during loading
If you notice performance issues, you can always turn it off again.
